Maine Maritime Academy
Maine Maritime Academy is a public college which sits on a 35 acre campus on
the coast of Maine and offers education in a number of different maritime
disciplines. The student body is about 800 and there is a regiment. The school
offers associate degree, bachelor degree and masters degree programs. There
are two ROTC options. Some of the academic programs include marine
engineering operations, marine engineering technology, marine systems
engineering, as design/license track or design track, marine transportation
operations, small vessel operations, small craft design, small craft systems,
international business & logistics, marine biology and marine science.
The State of Maine, seen above at its berth, is the college’s training ship and
serves as a seagoing lab and classroom, providing “hands-on” training for
students. The school also has the Loeb-Sullivan Graduate School, where
students can earn an advanced degree in a one-year fast track program.
