Did you know? A Chapter 7 bankruptcy is the common means used for an individual to attempt discharging their
obligations on unsecured debts. Although a bankruptcy discharge may result in no longer being obligated to repay
things like credit card balances, medical bills, some personal obligations, there are debts that are not discharged
by a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Individuals may file for bankruptcy in  federal court under Chapter 7, which is
sometimes referred to as a straight bankruptcy or liquidation, as opposed to a Chapter 13 filing, which is really
more of a reorganization of debt. The types of bankruptcy petitions that avail themselves to an individual or
business are named after the section of the chapter of the bankruptcy code, which is federal law. In addition to
Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings, additional bankruptcy and rehabilitation procedures include Chapter 11,
Chapter 12, Chapter 13 and Chapter 15. The property that an individual is allowed to keep in a Chapter 7
bankruptcy is known as exempt property. Certain obligations such as child support or student loan payments are
not discharged in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy action.
Listed Employers
This is a new section and has been added after we received feedback asking for better
organization for the jobs that don't neatly fit into traditional categories like tugboat jobs, ferry jobs,
ocean jobs, etc. Given the demand for skills acquired in working aboard ships, we're hopeful that
it will grow to be one of the most popular sections of the website. Come back often because this
section is going to see lots of growth. Thanks for visiting and good luck in your job search!
