Naval History Links

Here are a handful of links for naval history enthusiasts. The famous Iowa Class
Battleship New Jersey (BB 62) serves as a floating naval museum in Camden, New
Jersey. USS New Jersey served in World War II, the Korean War, off Vietnam, and
later in the Middle East. She represents the pinnacle of U.S. battleship design and is
the only Iowa Class serving as a museum. There are a number of other third
generation U.S. battleships serving as floating museums, such as the
Massachusetts, Alabama, and North Carolina. While they all mounted sixteen inch
main batteries and five inch secondary batteries, the refinements of the Iowa class
in terms of size, speed and other factors truly make them unique technological
wonders.
